Privacy Policy

Last updated [9/5/2025]

Thank you for choosing to be part of our community at PucaPlay, operated by Hypersity OÜ ("PucaPlay", "we", "us", or "our"). We are dedicated to protecting your family's privacy and your right to control how personal information is collected and used — especially when it involves children. If you have any questions or concerns about our privacy practices or about how we handle your personal information, please contact us at [email protected].

When you use our mobile application and related services, you place your trust in us — and we take that trust very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you (as a parent or guardian) have in relation to your and your child’s data. Because this app is intended for children aged 4+, we have taken extra steps to ensure full compliance with COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act), GDPR-K (for minors in applicable regions), and Apple’s Kids Category guidelines.

If there are any parts of this Privacy Policy that you do not agree with, we kindly ask that you discontinue use of the app and its services.

This policy applies to all information collected through our mobile application ("App") and any directly associated services, features, or parental interactions (collectively referred to as the "Services").

We encourage you to read this policy carefully, as it will help you make informed decisions about how your child’s information is shared with us — and how you can manage that access as a parent or legal guardian.

1. What Information Do We Collect?

Information Automatically Collected

In Short: We collect only minimal technical information required to operate and improve our app. We do not collect personal identifiers unless verifiable parental consent has been obtained.

When you or your child use the PucaPlay app, we may automatically collect limited device-related information. This data does not include names, contact details, or specific personal identifiers, and is collected in a way that complies with child privacy regulations.

The types of information we may automatically collect include:

  • Device type and model (e.g., tablet or smartphone)
  • Operating system version (e.g., iOS or Android)
  • App version in use
  • Time and duration of app usage
  • General location based on IP (e.g., country or region — not exact GPS location)
  • Language preferences
  • In-app navigation and usage data (e.g., which stories or features are accessed, frequency of use)
  • This information is gathered using tools that are COPPA-compliant and used strictly for:
  • Ensuring the stability and performance of the app
  • Diagnosing crashes and bugs
  • Improving user experience
  • Monitoring app usage in aggregate (not individual tracking)
  • We do not use cookies or trackers for behavioral advertising or profiling. No data collected is used to personally identify your child, and we never permit third-party services to do so.
Information Collected Through Our Apps In Short: We collect limited device and usage data to ensure the app works smoothly. All data is anonymized and used solely to maintain and improve functionality — never for advertising or profiling.

If you use the PucaPlay mobile application, we may collect the following types of non-personal and parent-consented information
Mobile Device Data: We may automatically collect information such as:
  • The type and model of the mobile device (e.g., iPad, Android tablet)
  • Operating system and version (e.g., iOS 17, Android 13)
  • App version currently installed
  • IP-based general region (e.g., country), never precise GPS location
  • This information is used only to ensure the app functions properly across different devices and platforms. We do not collect device identifiers like IMEI or advertising ID for tracking.
App Usage Data We collect anonymized app usage data, such as:
  • Which types of stories or meditations are played
  • How long a session is listened to
  • Frequency of app sessions
  • This data helps us improve the content and functionality of the app and does not include personal or identifiable information.
In-App Purchase History If a parent completes a purchase (e.g., unlocking premium content), we store the transaction status without collecting any payment data ourselves. All purchases are handled securely through Apple or Google’s systems.
We use purchase status only to determine content access within the app.
Search Activity (Anonymized) If the app includes a search feature (e.g., searching for story titles), we may log search terms in anonymized form to better understand user interests and improve content categorization.
We do not log who searched or how they interacted beyond the search term itself.
Push Notifications We may request permission to send non-intrusive push notifications such as reminders for bedtime stories or newly added meditations. These will be used only for informational purposes.

Parents may opt out of push notifications at any time via device settings.

    2. How Do We Use Your Information?

In Short: We use your information solely to operate, improve, and secure our app. We do not use any data for personalized marketing or behavioral profiling. All data use is aligned with parental consent and legal obligations

To Manage In-App Purchases We store purchase status (Premium access) to:
  • Unlock or restrict premium content accordingly

  • Legal Basis: Parental consent
Note: We do not send marketing or promotional messages to children.

We do not use any personal data for advertising, profiling, or commercial tracking. We also do not sell, rent, or share children’s information with third parties for any marketing purpose.

    3. Will Your Information Be Shared with Anyone?

In Short: We do not share your or your child’s information for advertising, marketing, or tracking purposes. Any data sharing is limited, protective, and only done with parental consent or where legally required.

We take your family's privacy seriously. The limited information we collect is shared only under the following strict conditions:

With Parental Consent If we need to share information for any specific purpose (e.g., customer support or backup), we will request and obtain verifiable parental consent beforehand.

    With Service Providers (Strictly Controlled)

We may work with COPPA-compliant third-party service providers to help us operate and improve the app. These providers are contractually obligated to:

  • Handle data in compliance with child privacy laws

  • Examples of such providers may include:
  • Cloud storage or database hosting
  • App performance analytics tools (anonymized)
  • In-app purchase verification (via Apple/Google)
  • To Comply with Legal Obligations We may disclose limited information if required by law, such as:
  • To respond to court orders or legal processes

  • Never for Marketing or Advertising We do not:
  • Sell, rent, or trade personal data
  • Share information for behavioral advertising
  • Allow any third party to track users across apps or websites
  • Business Transfers In the unlikely event of a merger, acquisition, or restructuring of our company, anonymized or essential data may be transferred, but we will notify parents and ensure continued protection under the same privacy commitments.

We always ensure that any partner or vendor we work with fully complies with COPPA and Apple’s Kids Category policies and does not misuse, store, or repurpose data outside the intended technical need.

    4. Who Will Your Information Be Shared With?

In Short: We only share strictly limited, non-personal data with trusted, privacy-compliant service providers to ensure the app functions as intended.

To manage subscription purchases and verify access to premium content, PucaPlay uses a secure third-party service called Adapty.

  • Whether a subscription was purchased or canceled
  • Type and duration of the subscription (e.g., monthly or yearly)

🔗 You can review their privacy policy here: https://adapty.io/privacy All shared data is used exclusively to manage subscription access and is never used for advertising, profiling, or third-party marketing.

    5. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

In Short: We only keep your and your child’s information for as long as it is necessary to provide the app’s core functions — and no longer.

We retain limited, non-identifiable data only for the time necessary to:

  • Provide subscription access
  • Deliver age-appropriate content
  • Monitor app performance
  • Fulfill legal or support-related responsibilities
  • We do not store any child’s personal data beyond its intended use, and we do not retain information for behavioral tracking, advertising, or profiling purposes.
    Data Retention Guidelines:
  • If a child’s birthdate or profile information is provided (with parental consent), it is used only to personalize content and can be deleted at any time upon parent request.
  • In-app purchase data (e.g., subscription status) is stored securely only as long as access needs to be validated.

  • Review any stored data
  • Request deletion of all data associated with their child’s profile
  • Revoke consent at any time
  • If we no longer need the data for the reasons above, or if parental consent is withdrawn, we will:
  • Securely delete or anonymize the data, or
  • If stored in secure backup archives, isolate it from further use until deletion is possible.
  • 6. What Are Your Privacy Rights?

    7. Do California Residents Have Specific Privacy Rights?

In Short: Yes — and we fully respect those rights, especially for children and their guardians.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Civil Code Section 1798.83 ("Shine the Light"), California residents — including parents acting on behalf of their children — are granted specific rights regarding the collection and use of personal information.

However, since PucaPlay is a child-directed app that does not share any personal data for marketing or advertising purposes, we do not disclose any information to third parties for direct marketing.

That said, if you are a California resident and would like to inquire about how your or your child’s data is handled, or to exercise your rights to access, review, or delete any information, you may contact us at:
